While we are on the hot topic of a tax referendum to alleviate traffic
congestion we should also consider building bridges over the Eastern
Branch and the Western Branch of the Lynnhaven River which would
liberate all the residents living in the peninsula, commonly referred to
as the King's Grant Little Neck Area.
There are a number of sites on both sides of these river branches that
would allow residents to connect with Independence to the West and to
Great Neck and First Colonial to the East, and Shore Drive to the North
without the necessity to drive to Virginia Beach Boulevard to go any of
four directions, E,N,W,S.
Just look at a local map. Look at the thousands of residents trapped in
that peninsula, who each day have to drive to Virginia Beach Boulevard
to go anywhere.
